Botox for Frown Lines, Wrinkles and Excess Sweating
Laser Clinics Cambridge and Peterborough
Botox treats sweating:
"My underarm sweating has stopped since you did the Botox treatment."
Do you want to get rid of frown lines? Botox is used to smooth and prevent frown lines on the forehead, especially between the eyebrows, and also around the eyes for the treatment of "Crows feet". Botox is made from botulinum toxin - hence the name Botox. Other botulinum toxin brands include Azzalure and Bocouture. Cosmetic injections of Botulinum toxins relax the muscles that cause frown lines and wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes. Tiny injections of Botox are placed in precise locations in the face. The treatment is over in a matter of minutes. Facial treatment effects last up to four months.

The most common treatment areas for Botox and other brands of muscle relaxing injections are the forehead, especially the frown lines between the eyebrows and the laughter lines around the eyes. The effect begins three to four days after treatment with the full benefits becoming visible after 7 - 10 days. Because the results of Botox are not immediate it is important to plan ahead and schedule your treatment. For information on Botox treatment prices click here.
Is there down time with Botox? You are able to resume normal activity immediately after treatment and so there is really no down time. You should avoid lying down for 4 hours after treatment so as not to put pressure on the injected areas.
Botox treatment is only used when wrinkles and frown lines are caused by muscle movement (active wrinkles). The treatment is not used for lip enhancement or to fill smile lines and skin creases. Cosmetic fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane are used instead. More information on these dermal fillers is available here.
Botox for excess sweating - Hyperhydrosis (Hyperhidrosis) Treatment
Botox is also used to effectively control the symptoms of excessive underarm sweating Hyperhydrosis. It works by blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the chemical signals are blocked the severe sweating stops. Botox injections are used to prevent the production of excessive sweat in the treated areas only. Sweat continues to be produced elsewhere in the body. The effect can last for more than 6 months. Hyperhidrosis treatment is available at our Cambridge and Peterborough clinics. We provide a free consultation to see if Botox treatment is right for you.
Botox is a prescription-only medicine and so it can only be prescribed by a licensed medical practitioner after a face-to-face consultation.
