What does laser treatment for veins feel like?

At BodyLaser Clinic our lasers cool your skin before and after each pulse of laser light. Most people experience a slight sting but this is quickly alleviated by the skin cooling system. After the laser treatment you can resume most normal activities immediately.

Who is suitable for laser vein removal?

Adults of all ages are suitable for vein treatment. You are invited to book a Free Consultation to have us assess your needs and answer your questions.

Syris Vein Illumination System

BodyLaser Clinic is one of a few centres in the UK to have the Syris Light illumination system. This cross-polarized, magnified, halogen illuminated device allows us to clearly visualize even your finest blood vessels, including those that cause unsightly redness but which individually are invisible to the naked eye.

How does laser treatment compared to alternative methods?

The primary benefits of laser removal of unwanted blood vessels are:

  • Larger areas may be treated with less discomfort than with sclerotherapy or vein stripping.
  • Our special CoolGlide vascular lasers combines speed, comfort and long lasting results.
  • Works on any area of the body where you wish to have blood vessels removed.
  • Small blood vessels which are difficult or impossible to treat with sclerotherapy respond very well to laser treatment.

What are the possible side effects?

Although most clients report few if any side effects from laser treatment, slight reddening or temporary swelling of the skin in the treated area is possible. This disappears quickly. Leg veins may exhibit slight bruising for some days after treatment.

Can Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) be used to treat veins?

Intense Pulsed Light or IPL devices are less expensive than lasers and they tend to be used by beauty salons. IPLs are useful for some applications but are not well suited for treating veins because the light energy cannot be concentrated into a small enough spot. Some small vessels can be treated with a good IPL but they do not have enough power to treat larger vessels and leg veins.
